Story MarketThe sales event of the film projects, or Story Market, will be held in August 2007. Lapin Lisä culminates in the Story Market in Tornio in August. A maximum of 8 projects selected in March in the Story Pipe will participate in the sales event. The sales event will consist of two parts: public pitching and private discussions. In the morning the projects that participated in the Package- workshops and that have a production company are pitched to the film-financiers under the guidance of a director, (a scriptwriter) and a producer. It is possible for scripts that don't have a production company to be pitched for script funding. In the afternoon it is possible to meet the film-financiers face to face and discuss the projects. The most important national film-financiers: the Finnish Film Foundation (SES), The Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture (AVEK) and YLE are committed to the event. The aim of pitching is that film-financiers get to know Lappish film talent and possibly decide to fund a film project (script funding, preliminary funding, or subsidies). Subsequently scriptwriters who don't have a production company may participate in the private discussions of the sales event. And Lappish production companies with the project's scriptwriter / director may be involved with the actual pitching. Production companies from Lapland and elsewhere are free to join the sales event. Programme of the Story Market:In the morning: In the afternoon: In the afternoon and in evening: Prizes of the Story MarketThe Story Market rewards the scripts and film projects that have the best capacity to move ahead to production (the judgement involves a beforehand delivered script or sales package of the film project as well as the sales pitch and the private meeting). Prizes at the Story Market are altogether worth 4000 euros. |
